Amanita
amanita, (genus Amanita), genus of several hundred species of mushrooms in the family Amanitaceae (order Agaricales, kingdom Fungi). Some species of Amanita are poisonous to humans. The amanitas typically have white spores, a ring on the stem slightly below the cap, a veil (volva) torn as the cap expands, and a cup from which the stalk arises.
